Golden Tulip South East Asia, a management company, will focus on developing and servicing hotels in the region including. Thailand, Malaysia. Singapore. Indonesia. Brunei, Philippines. Vietnam, Cambodia. Laos. Myanmar. Golden Tulip South East Asia aims to establish Golden Tulip Hotels, Inns & Resorts as a leading hotel chain in the region. while introducing the four brands of the chain: the 5-star Royal Tulip, the 4-star Golden Tulip and Golden Tulip Resort and the economy business 3-star brand Tulip Inn. The office will furthermore develop the necessary infrastructure to provide maximum support to investors and owners. Golden Tulip South East Asia aims to achieve a portfolio of 40 hotels in a four years period by both converting existing hotels into Royal Tulips. Gulden Tulips and Tulip Inns. well as developing new holds. The main focus will be to develop economy business hotels in the main capital cities and the four and five star brands. Royal Tulip and Gulden Tulip Resorts in the various resorts in S.E. Asia. Golden Tulip South East Asia Ltd.. will be led by Mr. Mark A.M. van Ogtrop. who joined Golden Tulip as the Managing Director and Senior Vice President of Golden Tulip South East Asia. Mr. van Ogtrop brings along more than twenty five years of experience in the hotel business, having started already in the 80's with Golden Tulip in Europe. He has worked in 3 continents and has over 10 years experience in Asia, having worked with The Peninsula Group in Hong Kong and Dusit Hotels & Resorts in Thailand. Mr. van Ogtrop was Area Manager for Dorint Hotels in Europe prior to joining Golden Tulip. Hans Kennedie. Key Appointments Underline Golden Tulip's Commitment to Asian Expansion
Golden Tulip's strategic expansion into Thailand has been consolidated with key appointments of two experienced General Managers for the group's hotels in Pattaya and Phuket. Golden Tulip Managing Director, South East Asia, Mark van Ogtrop said Australian national George Hazard has been installed as the General Manager of the Golden Tulip Resort Pattaya and the Golden Tulip Erawan Hotel. Both Pattaya properties are undergoing extensive renovations to bring them up to Golden Tulip operating standards and will officially re-open in early March. Mr Hazard has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years and joins Golden Tulip from his previous position as the General Manager of the Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya and has extensive experience in South-east Asia.

Mr van Ogtrop has also appointed Luxembourg national Claude Baltes as General Manager of the . This property will also be the first resort in Thailand practicing ancient Ayurveda spa techniques. Mr Baltes has more than 15 years experience in the hotel industry in South-east Asia. After stints with Shangri-La and Sheraton, he spent over 13 years with Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts and Six Senses Resorts& Spas in Indonesia and Thailand. Mr van Ogtrop, said the appointment of Messrs Baltes and Hazard was a key milestone for
the group as it expands in Thailand and the region. "Both George and Claude have a wealth of experience in operating hotels in Asia and they were very important appointments to get right and we have found two very professional General Managers here." he said. Mr van Ogtrop and his team will manage the Asian expansion of the group from Golden Tulip's regional headquarters in Bangkok with plans to open more hotels in Thailand and in South-east Asia in the near future.
